Student visa holders can work part-time during term (usually up to 20 hours per week) and full-time during vacation periods. Work restrictions depend on your level of study and course type.
You must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover your stay without working or accessing public funds. This typically includes bank statements showing regular income and savings.
Generally, you cannot switch from a Standard Visitor visa to a Student visa while in the UK. You would need to return to your home country and apply for the Student visa from there.
